Summer Classes at UWO

You might be asking, "why would I waste my summer taking classes if I don't have to?" I understand that most people don't take a summer class unless they have to so they can graduate on time or something. But honestly, theres a much better reason to take a summer class or two than that.

Being a senior about to graduate, I completely understand in hind-sight how I could have eased my class load each semester by taking a summer course every now and then. I had a couple of semesters that were really busy when they didn't have to be. If just for the simple incentive that you could have a really lax last semester of college, you should totally take a summer course.

Another example of why its a good idea is because some classes can just be more beneficial if you take them in the summer when you have more time on your hands. My boyfriend had to take that Active Lifestyle course and he did it during the summer. Not only did he actually have the time to go work out (which usually neither of us do during the regular semester) but he formed a legit workout routine and stuck to it all summer.

So even if you don't necessarily need to take a summer course, you should really think about it. It could mean the different between having a manageable semester--and therefore better grades--or not.

My blog has moved!

Hey readers! So my blog has now officially moved to Wordpress! Here's the link:

Its really cool and SUPER organized :) I love it! Don't mean to talk shit about Blogger, but seriously--I don't know why people use Blogger after now using Wordpress! It's so much more modern and easy to troubleshoot. So check it out if you haven't already!

Anyway, keep following my blog please, see you on Wordpress!

Winter Break

Well hi hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I know I did :)

Honestly, I really just want to pop on here and update those of you who actually do read my blog on what I've been up to for the past couple of weeks. I was really hoping to have some leisurely time to write a few epic blogs (which I still hope to do!), but so far I've been pretty damn busy.

First off, the whole reason I'm here in Duluth is to intern at the Animal Allies Humane Society. I spend a few hours every day working on video production and social media stuff for them. Here, you can check out my first video for them:

I'm really enjoying putting my skills to work for something I really care about. But yeah, other than doing that video, I'm working on the next couple simultaneously while also drafting up social media plans for them. Its so much fun so far.

Aside from Animal Allies, I've been busy doing social media work for my job with UMatter. I've been making a directory of custom profile pics, social media plans, and now I'm creating our blog. The blog is turing out so awesome! I love it! You bet your ass I'll be posting links to it like CRAZY once I'm done with it. Here's a taste of what it'll look like:

So I've been busy with that, making headers and custom social media buttons, organizing the blog and re-designing the layout of it. Should be pretty awesome when all is said and done. I actually was inspired by a city memorial here in Duluth and I have a blog all written and waiting to be posted. If you're interested, just google the name of the memorial and you can read about it. Here's some pics from the memorial:

But my stay here in Duluth has most certainly not been all work and no play. I'm here with my boyfriend Ben of course--he's interning at the Northland's News Center in Creative Services. If you're curious about what he's doing, you can check out his Vimeo page, he updates it constantly. But we've been having fun, we love it here in Duluth. We had fun checking out Bentleyville...

And we had a pretty good New Years Eve at home. We watched 2012, had homemade pizza, and had some margaritas. It was a good time. I'll spare you the photos of that night :P

We've blown through the sixth season of Bones and 2 seasons of Friends. Next on the docket is to finish of season 2 of Parenthood and then tackle season 3 of Sons of Anarchy. LOVE IT! And we've been renting movies from Mr. Movies like crazy. Its what we do on breaks. Catch up of the TV and movies we don't have time for during the semester. Oh and more importantly, I finally finished Lost!!!!! Such an epic show, its blows my mind. I cried like 4 separate times. It was amazing. Confusing, and amazing.

Anyway, that pretty much what break has been like so far for me. I'm hoping to help re-do the FB page for the BCMCC, which is a pretty sweet bassoon competition one of my music professors created. And I'm also working long distance to organize a concert with my friend Sierra for our little concert production team Oshkosh Underground. Aaaand I'm putting together guidelines for doing freelance web design for musicians.

So I keep pretty busy between all those projects. Can you blame me for not blogging? I'm still in the process of deciding what to do with this blog. I want to move it to Wordpress, but I also want to create a personal website on Wordpress and integrate my blog into that, so I'm trying to get that all sorted out. So much crap! But I love it :) And I'll keep you updated on where I go, blog wise.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings folks! Stay warm and rock on!
